UniFi Networks Planned Around Your Building
A good UniFi network begins before the hardware is chosen. Modal AV brings cabling, gateways, switching, managed Wi-Fi and secure administration together around the site, the people using it and the systems that rely on it.

More Than Matching Hardware
Choosing products from one range does not by itself create a dependable network. UniFi becomes useful when routing, switching, wireless coverage and administration are configured around a coherent brief.
We look at the internet service, floor plans, construction, equipment locations, expected demand, user groups and connected systems before settling the equipment list. Those conditions shape the cabling, hardware, wireless coverage and management approach.
Where an internal IT team, internet provider or another specialist is involved, we agree access, security and fault-finding responsibilities before configuration wherever the project allows.
What Goes Into a Considered UniFi Network
Structured Cabling
Cable type, routes, cabinet locations and outlet positions are coordinated with the building and connected systems. Agreed connections are terminated, tested and labelled so the infrastructure remains understandable after handover.
Gateways and Switching
Gateway and switch requirements are selected around internet connectivity, port capacity, power, uplinks, network separation and the equipment that will connect to them.
Managed Wi-Fi
Access-point positions are planned around layout, construction, interference, expected demand and how people move through the space. Agreed coverage is checked during commissioning.
Configuration That Reflects Real Use
Network groups, access policies, software versions and administrative access are configured around the agreed users and systems. Wired and wireless operation is then checked against the brief, with exceptions recorded rather than hidden.
A Handover Others Can Follow
Equipment, connections, administrative responsibility and known exceptions are recorded for the people who will operate or maintain the network. That gives future changes and fault-finding a reliable starting point.
Where UniFi Fits& Where It Doesn't
UniFi Can Work Well When
You need centrally managed wired and wireless infrastructure, expect more than a basic router-and-access-point setup, or want one accountable team to take the agreed network from the initial brief through commissioning and handover.
It may also suit a site where network visibility, multiple switches or access points, separate user or device groups, and secure remote management form part of the agreed brief.
We May Recommend a Different Route When
An internal IT policy mandates another platform, an existing estate must remain consistent with different equipment, or the brief depends on specialist compatibility, resilience or support requirements that UniFi does not meet.
Modal AV will explain those constraints and recommend according to the project rather than treating UniFi as the answer to every network requirement.

Understand the Building1
We review the space, how it is used and the practical constraints that will shape cabling, equipment locations and wireless coverage.
Map the Dependencies2
We establish what must connect, who needs access, which systems rely on the network and where another provider or IT team retains responsibility.
Set Out the Network3
We select the appropriate UniFi equipment and set out the cabling, power, containment, cabinet and configuration requirements for the wider project.
Build and Configure4
Approved cabling and equipment are installed and labelled, then configured to the agreed design with access and responsibilities controlled appropriately.
Prove, Record and Hand Over5
We check operation against the agreed scope, record exceptions, hand over the relevant information and confirm how future changes or faults should be handled.
Different Spaces Change the Brief
The equipment may be similar, but the right network looks different in a home, care environment or commercial site. The users, operating responsibilities and consequences of lost connectivity change the brief.
Homes
A residential network may carry everyday internet access alongside audio visual, automation, security and home-working requirements. We consider those dependencies without allowing equipment to dominate the interior.
Care Environments
Connectivity in a care environment may support residents, staff, visitors and integrated systems with different access and continuity needs. Operational responsibilities, safeguarding considerations and support boundaries must be agreed with the provider and its relevant advisers.
Commercial Sites
A commercial network must reflect working patterns, authorised access, connected building systems and the role of internal or external IT support. Documentation and clear ownership matter as much as the equipment itself.
After Handover
Secure remote access can provide useful visibility when investigating a reported issue, but it does not remove the need for clear ownership, compatible software, current records and an agreed support scope.
Modal AV can agree remote assistance, software and firmware review, planned maintenance and on-site attendance around the installed network. Response times and included work are recorded for the project rather than implied by a generic package.
